ABOUT US
The Philippine American Society of Central Ohio (PASCO) was born on March 17, 1974, at the residence of Tony and Sally Paz, located at 1311 Autumn Hill Drive, Columbus Ohio. On this memorable day, 130 individuals engaged in three hours of earnest discussion, culminating in the approval of a PASCO Constitution and the election of officers. Dr. Fortunato Soriano emerged as PASCO’s inaugural president, with the first Board of Trustees comprising Dr. Sergio Payuyo, Mr. Otto Gage, Dr. Narciso Albarracin Jr., Mr. James Jordan, and Dr. Hermie Villavecer.

The birth of PASCO was not sudden; rather, it evolved from years of informal Filipino American gatherings in Columbus dating back to the late 50s and early 60s. During the early 60s, two nuclei of Filipino-American camaraderie emerged: The Ohio State University (OSU) student community and a group of young Filipino professionals within the local community.
